Kenya KMTC Medical College Student Dormitory

Kenya 2016
Project location: Kenya
Building area: total construction area of about 270,000 square meters
Project phase: in design

The project is designed to provide student accommodation for 15 campuses located in the National School of Medicine of Kenya to improve the school’s fundamental facilities and school conditions, and to provide more comfortable living space for more students and faculty.

The total construction area of the project is about 270,000 square meters. A total of 37,100 student accommodation beds and auxiliary facilities such as canteens and classrooms are provided. The design concept of the project is to build a modern student accommodation facility that meets the standards and provide a better campus environment for living, learning and communication for more students to promote the development of medical education in Kenya.

The overall design of the building adopts the modular principle. The 15 sites are located in different areas of Kenya. The site conditions and land area are different, but they have the same functions and service objects. Therefore, we believe that regardless of the size of the room, the supporting facilities, modular concept is also the standard for indoor and outdoor decoration. In terms of design style, it should have a unified design standard and appear in a unify form.

The exterior walls of the building are mainly painted and brightly colored, which is in line with the local characteristics of Africa.
